Pup Pocket

In art class we our wonderfully crazy teacher comes in and says one week before Christmas Vacation "I think we will make pockets today, since we are doing clay. Then you will have them in time for Christmas." (pockets being like a little clay creation with a pocket on the front for holding keys and other crap.
Two art classes of creation, weeks of our teacher "baking" them in the kilm and two weeks of them being in a display case I got it back . Most people took lace or string and pressed them on to the pocket. But I did like the idea of that so I made my puppy instead. The paint job came out terrible as it did with my other pot, because I had no clue how the paint would turn out (there was no slab of clay with an example of what each would look like) so my dog's fur instead of being a nice gray-black is uber shiny metalic gray , and the other colors did turn out that much better >-< still not bad since I haven't done clay since kindergarten.

But I am happy with the shape, and being that my father's birthday is coming up... nothing says happy birthday like a homemade present
